I may be getting smarter

So, starting today, I've decided I'm gonna get better. I'm going to be using some Tylenol PM to regulate my sleep schedule to wake up before 3pm (i work at 3pm :|) quitting fast food and soda (not that I haven't drastically reduced it already, but still) and work on starting to exercise/work out/not be so damn fat, be more neat, not spend so much money, etc.

So far, so decent, though I should be going to bed right now.

Only problem is, I need to figure out a reward... working on that. Working on a lot of things.

Goodnight elowel!

The part of Tylenol PM that makes you sleepy is the Benadryl (diphenhydramine). You can start saving money by getting some generic Benadryl instead of Tylenol PM!

the easiest way i found to curb my spending was to keep track of everything i purchased in a day and then have a daily total. it was tedious to say the least, but it made me aware of just how much cash i drop around town. then i tried to see how many zero dollar days i could have in a week. it worked wonders for me!

Yeah dude i wanna start working out too again, but got to get rid of this darn sickness first. I'm trying to find things I love doing now, for example I used to skateboard a bit when I was in elementary school and now in college I've been longboarding a lot so I'm going to get a new skateboard soon (old one sucks bleep word) and start riding that again. It's something that I enjoy doing when i'm bored so I wont be tempted to just sit around and do nothing.

If you say so.
Dude that's awesome, I hope you reach your goals.

I found that after working out, every other part of my life got better!

no, seriously...
mint.com is a badass, free money management service. a few people in my office had been using it for a year or so and i started in january. the only catch is that you have to give them your online banking credentials so they can aggregate your transaction history.

Good luck! (Thanks for the mint.com tip Paul - very badass indeed.)

Working out sucks at first, but once you get going you'll start feeling great.

As for the reward...maybe a trip or something? I dunno. Or just tell yourself you're saving for something ambiguously awesome, then just horde the money.

Yeah, I've mint for a few months, it's pretty cool but not as good as a regular excel spreadsheet. It's good for the overall picture, but not for the day by day tracking of exactly what you bought.

no, seriously...
you just need to use the split transaction feature if you're trying to save more granular information about individual purchases... it may not be as flexible as an excel spreadsheet but who has the patience for that shit? and i think tagging makes it more useful for aggregating the data you've collected unless you have some mad excel-foo.

I have a little monkey that slaps me everytime I buy something I don't need.
